Unironically, Turkey's 5th-gen fighter holds more promise than the Russian Su-57.

If you disagree, you’re likely out of step with the latest developments.

This is not 1960s anon. 3D metal printing, EBAM, and other things are available in customer scale. Computers have great CFD tools and CAD & CAM software. A country like Turkey can now produce jet engines.

Looking at the absolute state of FCAS(thank you Sr.Trappier), forget about Russia Turkey may be competitive with European aerospace now, though I think that says more about the latter than the former. Perhaps GCAP might salvage things but there doesn’t seem to be much groundbreaking being done there. Concepts show tails similar to YF-23, meaning it’s not going to be particularly LO vs peers, while the impressive range marketed is apparently the result of just carrying that much fuel, rather than any investment in VCE technology. I hope you guys get your shit together because I don’t want to be comparing F-47 to darkiestuff as the nearest competitors.

Su-57 is made excellent by the ability to carry four X-69s internally. They're Storm Shadow equivalents. Their ability to be picked up earlier than F-35s/F-22s is nullified when on the deep strike role.
Anonymous No.64060284 [Report]
>Unironically, Turkey's 5th-gen fighter holds more promise than the Russian Su-57.
Yes, it does. Because Turkey actually spent the recent decades developing and fielding new capabilities and industries to support them. It doesn't matter if some of them are bad or not as good, the main point is that they consistently progress and make things. When was the last time russians actually developed new shit which wasn't "we've designed this in late USSR times, but the project was shelved for the lack of money, so now we'll dust it off and do PR campaign around it"? Literally all of the projects either failed or never materialized at all. So yes, Turkey by definition is better, because it's actually moving forward.

You're giving up a lot of performance and adding a lot of weight if it's vectoring. Current KAAN has less powerful than desired F110 engines and the plane does not even have RAM paint yet. Flat nozzles are premature. Right now it's in the phase of it's pretty good if we can make our own F-15.

I'd bet Ukraine and Hungary will operate this jet in 10-15 years (that is, if Ukraine still exists then). Seems like it will be a good option for anyone who wants western standard but isn't close enough with the US to get the top notch gear. I assume it will be cheaper than say GCAP/Tempest or -if it ever flies- FCAS too. And it will probably be available sooner than the fully stealth version of the KF-21 too (the one with internal weapons bays). I could see Pakistan using it too, although they may get the J-35 instead sooner and not have a need for it then.

In next decade, Turkey will try to surround Israel by providing its neighboring countries with 5th gen fighter which has very capable AESA radar and very long-range ramjet AA missiles.

not sure about Pakistan, the J-35 will likely be available sooner and seems to fulfill the same role as the Kaan, so what would be the point to operate both?

>Turkey will try to surround Israel by providing its neighboring countries with 5th gen fighter which has very capable AESA radar and very long-range ramjet AA missiles.

You might be right. Pakistan is broke, and Chinese offer the military gear along with its financing. Turkey is unlikely to do that. If Chinese give them the J-35, then they might not show interest to the Kaan.

i'm pretty sure about it. they only didn't give F-22 to Israel because it wasn't necessary, Israel kept its superiority with plenty F-15/F-16 and F-35 which no neighbor operates. If Turkey or China supply potential rivals with stealth jets, America will give Israel the newest gear.

Israel is the only country that got very wide access to the F-35 and was allowed to modify its own version, only the US and Israel have testbed versions of the plane. Not even program members like the UK have that.
>Israel won't get the F-47, as they didn't get the F-22 or B-2.
again, they didn't get F-22 or B-2 because they didn't need it to keep their advantage. If the Kaan or J-35 are actually good enough to threaten Israel's superiority with its F-35I fleet, they will fly the F-47, mark my words.
