This is the proposed 6.8mm replacement for the AUG from Lithgow Arms/Wedgetail industries. The Australian standard issue infantry rifle is set to be replaced in the next few years under project LAND159 tranche 2, which is scheduled to complete in FY26/27.

tl;dr it's still being evaluated. I believe the ADF will not even bother with a 6.8mm weapon, though. They'll most likely keep the AUG or move on an AR-18 rifle.
