I live in Japan, and there is basically no way to enjoy firearms as a hobby in this country. Even bladed weapons are highly regulated, and they need to possess artistic or historical merit to be registered and privately owned.
I enjoy the mechanical aspects of firearms, but if I stay in this country, I'll never get to touch them again. I guess it is the price I pay for affordable dental care and cool architecture.
