Im getting a Desert Eagle in 50AE
https://www.magnumresearch.com/desert-eagle/

Which do you own?
Where do you shop for ammo?
I like a few of the color ways
>Gold
>Polished Chrome
I just want the finish to age well so probably sticking with chrome
not a huge huge factor as I am poor and this will destroy my financial situation for months and months

Bro as someone who owns one just wait till you’re in a better place financially to do something like this, I love my Desert Eagle and all the different barrels/ calibers but it’s not worth eating Ramen for months just to sit there fingerfucking it in the dark. Also I hope you’re at least a little autistic because it needs to be broken down and cleaned just about every time you shoot it.

good choice but you should save up before buyin, friend

It's a novelty gun; just save up for some months and then get it.

I have the Mark XIX in Tungsten Grey cerakote.
Finish is excellent on mine despite me literally throwing it around and into the back of my trugg bed.
Put about 5,000 or so rounds through it over the 8 years I've owned it. Make sure you keep extra springs on hand and buy a couple gas pistons to keep on hand as they like to shear themselves off after about 1000 rounds.

Ignore the posters, buy it now, with a credit card if you have to. There is no guarantee you will be capable of saving up, or that your financial situation will improve in any meaningful way in the foreseeable future. You might as well buy it and enjoy life now.

Not OP but can I ask if you ever regret getting it in .50 AE since they come in .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum as well? The logical part of me wants one in .357 magnum and the emotional part of me wants to buy one in .50 AE and convert it to .429 DE for extra performance.

nah, no regrets.
95% of the fun of having the deagle is watching the smile it puts on peoples face.
I shit you not I've never had someone fire that that didnt have a shit eating grin from ear to ear after letting a round loose.
I haven't ever really cared about .357 or .44. I have dedicated guns for those calibers.

I have .357mag, .44mag, and .50AE and it’s much more economical to constantly shoot it with .357mag than it is with .50AE, it’s also still fun, accurate, and the highest capacity .357 you can get that’s an actual magnum and not SIG which sucks since it’s impossible to find now.

>Which do you own?
I own the Mk. XIX with the stainless finish in .44 magnum. Favorite gun, carry it daily.
>Where do you shop for ammo?
Sportsman's Warehouse. Nowhere else to do it really, other than my local mom-n-pop shop. They don't always have the rounds on THE LIST though.
Don't go for the gold unless you just want a decorative piece though. The only time the gold deagle was good was in Killing Floor, and even then that was just because it was amusingly tacky.
If you're low on funds, I'd just shop used. You can get them for $800, which is a steal compared to the $2750 I paid for a new one with mags. If you must go new and you really want the gold, save up and get it when you get a tax return or something. I wouldn't say a deagle is practical enough for the average person to justify paying that much for it.

I’ll be honest with you anon. Aside from CS players that don’t shoot, the desert eagle has long term appeal for only a very niche market segment.
>financially secure/lots of disposable income
>autistic desire to tinker with something that doesn’t quite work right until it does
>isn’t offended by the idea of a firearm over $1k that won’t work correctly out of the box and has special ammo requirements
If at least 2 and preferably all 3 of these don’t apply to you, you probably should buy something else.

nta but if you're making that much and still feel like you're struggling then i'm going to assume something is wrong financially, like your significant other has an online shopping addiction and is spending 40-60k/yr of your money like what happened to my brother. if it's not that and not paying off a mountain of debt then please tell me it's a couple expensive hobbies that you're enjoying the shit out of; but that would also assume you have the time away from work to engage in them hopefully.

686 makes the most sense and is the least expensive, but the XVR looks crazy and the 500 is a 500. Also, you can find .500 S&W ammo on the shelves of good gun stores. idk about .460
