>Drones operated by Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) struck five Russian fighter jets overnight on Aug. 4 at an airfield in Saky, a city in Russian-occupied Crimea, the agency said.
>Ukrainian drones, in a Special Operations Center "A" mission, destroyed a Su-30SM aircraft, damaged another, hit three Su-24s, and struck an aviation weapons depot.

defending against drones is impossible, isn't it?

This is the most crazy part. One would think that loosing 1/3 of your irreplaceable strategic bomber fleet would send people running to prevent anything nearly similar - nets, tents, sheds, maybe... just maybe even hangars? Nah.. surely they wouldn't try it again? Lets just Shaded spam civilian commie blocks, threaten to nuke London and hope that does it.

There's no excuse for the "second" power in the world to lose aircraft in a war against the poorest nation in Europe. Especially given Russia's claim to AA tech and radar.

Yes, that's what zigger shills always do. Ukraine menawhile has no need for such antics, given the amount of hits they regularily score. Nice projection, ziggie.

Lets assume they were SU-34's, at $36m each, five of them is $180m. If you think a 'city' (pre-war population, 1026) is worth $180m, you're retarded. Especially since a lot of cities are financial drains and the only real beneficial ones are economic centres like New York or capitals like Washington DC.

The war being totally unprofitable for Russia is something people don't see to understand. If you told Putin in January 2022 that he'd lose thousands of tanks, hundreds of aircraft, helicopters and thousands of APCs and IFV, several ships and a submarine he'd defenestrate you on the spot.

In fact, there was an article in December 2021 iirc that stated that the projected losses for Russia were about 14,000 soldiers and 300 tanks. With both numbers being completely unacceptable to the public and Putin. We've passed those by an order of magnitude.

https://www.euronews.com/2025/08/04/ukraine-strikes-five-russian-fighter-jets-at-the-airfield-in-annexed-crimea

Ukraine’s Security Service struck an airfield in Saky in annexed Crimea overnight on Monday, hitting five fighter jets, which Russia uses for its regular attacks on Ukraine.
Five Russian fighter jets have been hit in an overnight drone attack by Ukraine’s security service at an airfield in Saky in Russia-annexed Crimea.

SBU stated that its Special Operations Centre "A" mission’s drones destroyed one SU-30SM aircraft, damaged another and hit three Su-24s while also striking the aviation weapons depot.

"The successful special operation carried out by the SBU in Saky marks another step toward weakening the enemy's capacity to wage its war of aggression against Ukraine," security service said.

Su-30SM is a twin-engine, two-seat multirole fighter aircraft developed by Russia, with production beginning in the early 2010s. This fighter jet is priced between €30 and €43 million.

The Russians lost all credibiliy already at the start of the war. These guys literally claimed 200 Ukrainian casualties at hostomel and 0 russians killed. At the same time as we were watching dead VDV all over the place.

Yet they still expect to be taken seriously.
