yes. the new 155mm ramjet rounds have given new life to that caliber; they go beyond 100 km and can be guided. it probably would have been a good idea to continue to make them (without the guns if so desired), as they could have simply replaced the ticos, and they're big enough to be considered cruisers anyway.

It's not useless, just not a valuable enough capability to bother continuing to develop it when there will never be more than three ships that could mount the guns. If there had been a full run of Zumwalts it would have easily been worthwhile to arm them all. Even at $200,000 a salvo of LRLAPs is more cost effective than a Tomahawk for targets within range of water, which is most things.

Salt damage on RAM inside or outside the aircraft isn't an issue.
It's just a visual thing, it doesn't affect the coating's ability to do its job.
