Probably more like 3.5-4MOA with a cold barrel, but yes, they were not that accurate. The pencil barrels whip like crazy and when they get hot (which is only like 35 rounds) you get pretty significant POI shift.

What's interesting to me is we gave the israelis something like 80000 M16A1s in 1972 and they chopped the barrels down to 12.5 to make their Menusars at some point, and many of those original barrels are still in service 60 years later, presumably not shot out. If the barrel goes bad they just replace it with an M4 upper.

Indoors / up close it’s not really that different from an m640u but it’s definitely brighter.
