I think the best thing about Paul's videos in terms of gun knowledgeable specifically was his skeptical approach. He was careful to not only question authority, but encourage the audience to question his and to consider his experience/point of view in light of their own rather than taking everything he said at face value. That is the very opposite of what most other guntubers do, which is easy because that's what a lot of people who either don't shoot enough or at all want in order to use the videos as a source of facts so they can win internet arguments.

The man had a healthy dose of common sense, which is sorely lacking in this day and age. He wasn't trying to be something that he wasn't, there was an honesty and straightforwardness about him that you could respect. No attempt to be tacticool or bullshit you.

i have mad respect for him because he had experience/training in just about every aspect of carrying a gun. Military, LEO, hunting, civilian defense and ownership, the only thing i dont know is if he had competitive experience but im sure i could go through the videos to find that answer.

Paul knew how to shoot a rifle and pistol when bullets were coming back at you. When seconds and first shot hits counted. And it showed. Unlike the cult comp shooters of today who lack the understanding that bullets are going both ways not only what Paul said had substance you can learn from, what he did and how he did it does as well.

Paul Harrell was one of the few guntubers I felt comfortable watching.

He was unassuming, friendly, quirky, and extremely systematic. Just a nerd, and that has to be appreciated.

One was the guy who almost ran over his wife that got ventilated with Remington green & white box 55 grain full metal jacket ammunition fired out of his Colt A1 platform rifle (with A2 handguards). The other I seem to recall being an incident he never went into much detail on where he talked about racking a shotgun not being enough to deter someone. By the sound of things I would reckon that was probably a home invasion, which is probably why there's not a public record of it when those types of things are generally open-and-shut "Yeah you had every right to shoot" cases.
