Opinion on Extar EP9?
What is the consensus on this pcc? I thought it would be shit but alot of ppl seem to like it?
> 500 usd
> mostly polymer (ewww)
> blowback design (somehow has less recoil than the kuna which is a roller delayed design?)
> Takes Glock Mags

I don't know why you'd do it when you can get a PSA AR-9 for roughly the same price but not made from plastic. I don't even like PSA given their history of scummy business practices but in this instance they're the no-brainer pick over basically the same gun but made of a comprehensively worse material

Of the things that you listed the only legit point in its favor

AR-9 shoots like shit though. Alot of youtube reviewers seem to actually like shooting the extar

add it to the pile

I trust a youtube review less than the taco stand being ran out of a run down gas station down the street to not give me food poisoning. If it's really that unbearable just get a roller delayed buffer. Otherwise how is a lighter, plastic AR9 supposed to shoot better unless they're either doing some black magic or someone's lying

I mean it is 500 bucks. If you don't like it, just keep it in your bedroom or something to scare off intruders.

or just don't buy it at all lol

I own one, its fine. The only time I had issues was when I used magpul 27 rd glock mags which also had issues in another PCC.

The real issue is pic related. Supposedly, if this plastic piece breaks you can't reassemble the gun. Thats what extar told me. Extar told me if that broke, you would need a new upper

legitimately better off printing a FCG9 mk2

Bought one and kind of regret it. It's fun to shoot, and 100 percent reliable now, but wasn't at first. On the first range trip to get it zeroed I was getting 2 round bursts, I though maybe I was accidentally bump firing. But after it did it 5 times I knew something was off. On the last mag it gave me a 5 rd burst and almost got me kicked off the range. I was lucky those were the last 5 rds in the mag. So I sent it back to the extar to get it fixed. They wanted to know what type of ammo I was shooting and that pissed me off. Anyways I sent it back to them and they said they did "extensive testing and shooting with it" and couldn't replicate the issue. They went ahead and replaced the bolt carrier and trigger group. Also these assholes said they couldn't send it back to me directly, even tho I already got it through and ffl, had to do the process again and pay another transfer fee. So I got it back and took it out to the range again and it fired 100 percent reliably until the last mag. Every shot went off but the bolt didn't lock back this time. Turns out 2 of the 3 screws that hold the bho tab flew out of the gun while I was shooting. Never found them. Called them up to get some replacement screws and they wanted me to go online and buy them since they sell replacements. I told them im not paying for it after all that shit they put me through. Guy sounded like he couldn't be bothered but eventually agreed to send them. 500 rds without issues after the fix but wouldn't buy it again. After all that I would say it is fun to shoot and looks slick but feels cheap and dont know how long it will last. Proceed with caution.

Is this gen1 or gen2? I know gen1 has some serious issues with the plastic material?
Anonymous No.64082959
>>64082529
Gen 2. Its not so much that the hook is flimsy, just that Extar seems to think the gun cant be used without it and you would need a new upper according to them. If it was a piece of metal with a screw I would have no complaints

Why would you pay an extra 300 bucks to use a less common mag? Especially at that point when you're starting to enter the price range of lower end MP5s

not everyone hordes glock mags dude, most want the scorp mags out of aesthetics
Anonymous No.64083841
>>64083713
Again, why pay nearly a grand for a PSA with a scorpion mag instead of just buying a scorpion or an MP5? I just don't see the point when you're still limiting yourself with the sub-par AR manual of arms and sticking to straight blowback
>but they're great
T charger is shit and I'm tired of pretending it's not. Charging handles belong out on the handguard where your support hand rests

What would be a generally good PCC?

I am caught between a Scorpion, Kuna, or the Century AP5.

I mean what are you looking for specifically? Reliability, Magazine compatiability, etc

Those are all good options
Anonymous No.64084241
>>64083904
Well that depends on 3 questions. Which one do you think is coolest (personally I'm AP5>Kuna>Scorp)? Do you want an FRT (AP5 is the easiest of the three)? And which feels best in your hands (take a wild guess what I think).

13 in 9mm rifle? Holy bullet drag Mr. Bundles!
Can anyone recommend me a good 45 acp Pcc that takes the glock mag ? I kinda wanna just go with extar but I'd like something sexier like pic related.

not super-related, but I've come really close to buying their old discontinued 5.56 pistol. But i've owned a draco in 7.62 and it was stupid, and 5.56 would be stupider

scorpion bad, kuna new which = bad, AP5 proven gud and cheap

I like it. Its fine as a range toy or bedside gun. It shoots softer than other AR9s and suppresses pretty well. For the price its a good buy. More interested in the coming 10mm version

Scorpion is very nice if you replace 3/4 of the components

Still more expensive than an 11.5 PSA AR, no reason to exist desu
