Fuck and No.
If you need a pocket piece get a LCP II or a MAX they're smaller and not fully cocked strikers.
If you need a IWB get any of the compact 9's and never look back.

It's a chick gun desu

I'm not even a big dude (5'10" if i fix my posture) and I can conceal a G26 effortlessly. a G19 taps my nuts which I don't like. A G26 with a G19 grip would be the tits. Smaller guns are worse to shoot and harder to draw.

Not everyone is in the same situation mister myopia. Like for example, I have an LCP2 because pocket carry is the only way that I'm going to actually carry, and I'm not going to put that chunky boy in my back pocket where I have to sit on it. But I also keep my wallet and phone in opposing front pockets so I wanted something thin that could go behind my wallet. And pretty much everybody else has a different situation, a different hand, a different idea about how important this is to them, which is why pistols are personal preference more so than any other type of gun.

Op you're going to just have to get something and then see if it works for you. I cycled through a few different pistols before landing on what I have and pretty much everybody has the same story. The Bodyguard 2.0 is a great place to start though.

yeah. I love mine. You forget how tiny it is until you set it next to a Glock 19 or something. It really feels like S&W nailed it and created a perfectly ergo pocket pistol. I got the safety version because why not and it's super easy to drop the safety lever rapidly. When people who have held hundreds of different guns and people who have barely held any guns all say it feels great to hold and shoot, that means there's something to it. The LCP Max is a good gun however the BG 2.0 simply blows it out of the water.

Honestly, I am not sold on these small 380 pistols.

- They feel like shit when shooting them
- the 380 ammo are 2x a 9mm
- low capacity
- some are very unreliable (like the bersas)

I would get a micro 9 if you can. Even a compact. It is not like you are dropping it in your jean pocket, you still need a holster.

Something like the shield plus or a ccw glock seems better.

Someone correct me if I am retarded, I think a micro 380 is just overkill.

Yeah I think they probably had to make sacrifices to shrink everything down into such a small package, but i haven't shot a shield or had them both apart side by side. I just knew after putting rounds through it that it felt "special" if that makes sense. It really doesn't translate well to dry firing, the recoil impulse, how it snaps back on target, being able to get both of my hands on it similarly to how I grip larger framed pistols, I absolutely love mine, but you're right its not going to be perfect for everyone
Anonymous No.64089743 [Report]

This why its so obvious to pick out who has actually shot one and who has maybe, at most, held one in store. They don't shoot like any of its .380/pocket carry predecessors. They're consistently accurate and EASY to shoot. Good luck shooting a fist sized group at 25yd with a LCP.

NTA and I'm not going to go so far as to say you should never carry a striker gun in a pocket, but I don't. No, the gun will not go off in the holster if it's in a proper kydex holster in your pocket, but remember that your draw is basically always more impeded with pocket carry than with IWB carry. Your fingers are jammed into a pocket with a loaded gun in it, and the mouth of your pocket is narrower than the pocket itself. Tight quarters for both your hand and the gun. This increases the risk of a finger finding its way into the trigger guard especially at speed and under pressure. I think with training and practice you can safely pocket carry a Bodyguard 2.0 and take advantage of its shootability, but it's just outside of my personal comfort level for a pocket gun. Yes you can get the manual safety model but S&W insists on using the absolute shittiest little manual safeties for the Shield and B2.0. LCRs and J-Frames are still the safest pocket guns in my mind.

S&W shills have taken over a lot of gun boards since the Bodyguard 2.0 came out. The capacity doesn't matter because the 6+1 of the first gen was never insufficient, the 2.0 is larger, and it has a glock-style striker fired trigger instead of the DAO trigger. It is arguably a worse pocket pistol than the first gen and no amount of meaningless extra rounds will change that.

People shill the 2.0 because it's great, in fact its one of those rare examples of somebody releasing a new firearm that ACTUALLY completely mogs the competition. Based on what you've said I am forced to conclude that you're both retarded for thinking it's unreasonable for people to desire a greater than 6 round capacity from a .380 and have most likely never shot the bodyguard 2.0.

And the feedback was and continues to be fundamentally wrong. A pocket rocket shouldn't have a nice crisp clean trigger but one that is deliberate and much more likely to be used in extreme stress. DAO on the OG bodyguard was g2g.
They turned it into a M&P mini .380 and now it's nearly 40% larger - begging the question what exactly is the point? It's a better shooter now sure but it's bigger than the LCP MAX, is in the same size category as the P365, CC9 and hellcat, and as another poster said earlier If you just wanted a high cap .380 a Cheetah or 80x would be a very enjoyable alternative

I prefer IWB but sometimes pocket carry is necessary. Not all pants are compatible with IWB. I carry a VP9 IWB and a bodyguard 2.0 for pocket. I use the desantis pocket holster for the bodyguard and its been great and made for the purpose. Before that I've pocket carried a P365 and Walther PPS. I don't understand the hesitation unless you're just ignorant of the current state of striker guns and holsters. The bodyguard is a very safe gun to carry and good holsters dont allow for the trigger to get caught. That's the whole point of the dingus anyways, it requires a proper trigger pull, getting caught wont engage it properly.

$400 brand new, cheaper used, 12+1 and 10+1. Shoots amazingly for it's size. Extremely easy to iwb cc, with the 10 round mag you can even pocket carry easy and have 10+1.

It's my daily carry, I think it should be the new standard default carry gun. Of course if you want something else get it, but I think it's a great price point for a great gun that's easy to cc and should be the go-to for anyone who wants a conceal carry but doesn't have one
