Nah, Napoleonic wars was the last peak in warfare. Wars became gay when you stopped seeing the eyes of the man you are killing. You could say that breakthrough in gunpowder made war gay a few centuries before that and I do think there's merit to that idea, but warfare still held strong until the industrial age really kicked into gear.
