6th Gen fighter jet requirements are way too high and we're unlikely to see a real one until 2030 at the earliest.

I don't think anyone on this board knows what the 6th gen requirements are

is the "muh meta-materials" meme still a thing?

A DR.1-M with JATO type rocket packs fired at maximum altitude, a pressurized flight suit for the pilot, nitrous injectors for the engine and a lot of luck technically meets the requirements.

>Low radar signature by default
>50-60K+ altitude
>can carry a single AA missile
>Probably going to die
>Worth it

I believe this is the consensus opinion

6th gen should be Battletech-esque aerospace fighters capable of at least suborbital flight. Each jump in "gen" should be considerable and meaningful. Stealth was a meaningful jump in capabilities. Adding canards and ricing it up with bodykits is not.

That's because lockmart aren't done writing it
And they're the only ones allowed to distinct fighter gens, lol
What a load of shit

That's what it takes for generational status.

And neither does the military or industry. Technology generations are nothing more than a marketing term.
