Improving accuracy as a new shooter?
I am a new shooter and I have been trying to improve my aim with the revolver I have. Its a .357 and I actually enjoy shooting a lot but I think my aim is pretty trash. I can run 2 full cylinders and hit a target at 25 yards with maybe missing 2-3 rounds out of the 12 shots I take. However, the spread on the target is all over the place. Generally speaking, what are some things to keep in mind when aiming with revolvers? Not sure if it matters but its a 4 inch barrel .357.

1. Shooting from revolvers has no prectical appliance.
2. When mobilizxation draft starts, you will try to evade (unsuccessfully
3. They will give you a rusty rifle from Linkoln times.
4. When shell explodes near your trench, you will learn, that adult diapers is a thing.

Breathing, grip, sight picture, squeeze don’t jerk.
Breathing- don’t hold your breath. Take a breath, start letting it out and start squeezing the trigger at the same time.
Sight picture- line up your sights the exact same way every time. Focus on the front sight, the target should be a little out of focus. And start with a bullseye target at 5 yards. Three inch groups are the goal. Once you’re consistent at 5 yards, move it back to 10 yards. And so on, in 5 yard increments, out to 25 yards. Start off using iron sights, you can switch to the optic of your choice once you’ve got the fundamentals in place.
Grip- take your time setting your grip. If your grip is different from shot to shot, that affects your group. After a while, you’ll be able to feel it in your hand when your grip is right.
Squeeze the trigger. Unconsciously jerking it and/or anticipating the shot is going to put your shots all over the place. The shot should be a surprise, because you’re concentrating on the sight picture and keeping your breathing steady.

Start off using target ammo. Once you get to where you can consistently put 3 inch groups on paper at 25 yards, then you can start practicing occasionally with EDC ammo. Same goes for learning your draw from holster. Right now you want to instill the right muscle memory for grip, breathing, sighting, and trigger management. Take your time, you’re working on precision. Speed comes later.

Are you shooting double or single action? Double is going to make getting the trigger pull much harder. With the gun empty aim down the sights with a dime balanced on the barrel (or top strap if you can't balance one on the barrel) and practice dry firing. If the dime falls off it means you're jerking the trigger. Practice this until you can complete a trigger pull without disturbing the dime. You can have a perfect sight picture and still be off target if you fuck up the trigger pull. For live fire practice just concentrate on keeping it on paper for now, better groupings will come. Keep an eye out for straight down deviation (anticipating recoil) or staight up deviation (flinching).

this is 1005 valid and better for most people. once youve gotten competent with focusing on the front sight you can move on to target focused.
if you go from never shoots and try to do target focused with no fundamentals you are going to have a bad time.

This has to be bait. Or this is a parrot parroting a retard being parroted by another slightly more retarded parrot.
>>but the fundamentals
They dont become easier to do or learn because you are improperly using the sights.
Focus is always on the target. The front sight will be slightly out of focus and may seem to float around slightly.
Stop giving advice and opinions because you are a dumb cunt.
