>cartoons in the early 2010s used to showcase real guns after using family friendly sci-fi laser blasters for so long
I miss this era.

That never made sense to me, because wouldn't a laser powerful enough to be useful as a personal weapon fuck the target up just as bad, if not worse, than a firearm?

I really want to know what shifted in the overall culture that made that permissible at that time and only that time. My memory isn't the best but it seems like that turn of the decade had a lot of shows and episodes that wouldn't be greenlit before or after. Hell even GI Joe, the most pro military show that's ever been didn't use guns. Anyway who wants a body massage?

Bro same. I was in high school when it aired. I swear me and my best bro were the same dynamic so we constantly quoted the show growing up. Then I finished college and got married. Went back to the show and finished the last season where they all grow up. The series finale was so cathartic, shed many tears. What a show.

Chowder really was something else. Mung being a womanizer, the constant 4th wall breaks, Rada rada. Such a great show.

Cartoon network was peak. From Ed, Eddie, and Eddie, samurai jack, Courage the Cowardly Dog in the 90s and early 200s, then you got Adventure Time, Regular Show, Amazing World of Gumball, and others. They blew Nickelodeon out of the fucking water. Don't even get me started on Adult Swim, man I miss that shit.

I think the concept of laser guns being a janky, βwe kinda figured it out but not reallyβ, inefficient and clumsy weapon system is really the coolest way to depict them. The movie Prospect does that extremely well, everything about that movie is very well done and I wish it got better reception
