but the amount of unstopped violent crime is at a threshold to where it can 10x in a matter of weeks
then you are talking roaming gangs with multiple shooters

Most of the time, yes. I carry a 6 shot 32 J frame 95% of the time. I still bring a double stack 9mm and keep it in the truck with a good holster and belt, just in case I am going somewhere more sketchy. This setup is ideal for me.

You've already replied in this thread that you are gonna carry something like a sig p220 which is way better than a j frame so I'm sure you'll be ok.
