Because it is illegal and shutting things like that down is sort of the type of thing that police do. If you can see it, the authorities can see it.

They also actively avoid shutting down the scam ones so that people trying to break the law get scammed, which has a chilling effect.

In the US private sales of firearms are legal between residents of the same state, so investigating this can get tricky because not every transaction like that is actually illegal. You can potentially have two guys meeting up in person over a dark web posting, transfer a gun and if neither is prohibited from doing so then no law is broken.

in commiefornia, we got the roster, if the gun isnt on it, you cannot legal buy it unless you are LEO. Private party transfer allows you to purchase off roster guns legally, but its usually with a premium to cover original purchasers dros, tax, and small profit. example, $1000 gun thats off roster can sell for $2000 (10% state tax, 11% faggot newscum tax, dros, and dealer fees)

in the EU it is still done by "brick and mortar stores" and you need to know the right people. In my city seeing unregistered shotguns and pistols is quiete normal in certain circles and the ammount of "illegal" unregistered weapons including "military" ones is at up to 100 million.

So buying them online is more risky for everyone except the police.

The classic John Browning designs were mostly made even before the knee mill (Bridgeport is best known in CONUS) was invented. That means late 1800s/early 1900s machine tools are more than sufficient to make weapons, jigs and tooling.
