Why have drones paralyzed both sides in the Ukraine war and killed or maimed tens of thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of Russian soldiers but their mass use by Iran against Israel achieved literally nothing despite employing the same types and in even greater numbers? Not 1 Israeli was killed by Iranian drones despite thousands being launched, nor was anything hit beyond a damaged roof.

Moreover Hezbollah only managed to kill 4 israeli soldiers with drones in months of fighting. That's like a 20 minute window for either side in Ukraine. Hamas much-hyped drone force was also useless and never appeared again after a single use on October 7th.

Iranians don't have enough drones + the distance is too great + Israelis have competent modern airforces

Drones aren't really that effective, the situation in Ukraine is a perfect storm for their application which is why both armies, being somewhat competent and motivated to win, have widely adopted the use of low level drones. I eagerly await the adoption of terminology to distinguish these types of tactical drones from extant unmanned weapons. Anyway, Israel is an easier place to defend and they've got a much more complete air defense complex than Ukraine or Russia. Drones produce attritional casualties on stagnant lines of contact in poorly controlled or contested airspace. In the arena of Iran vs Israel, attempting to launch an unsupported, relatively unsophisticated strike on Israeli cities, drones are woefully underequipped to penetrate air defenses. The other thing maybe worth noting is that the Iranians love symbolic counterstrikes that don't kill people because this protects them from retaliation. Or at least, they have in the past.

Defense of israel during iran's missile/drone seige depleted american patriot missile stores to a quarter of what they had before, I seriously think Israel was getting hammered to hell, not that we get to know because it's illegal to report hits in israel.

russian strategic drones have not accomplished much more than force ukraine to spend more resources on air defense and maybe some minor problems for their defense industry, tactical drones have had a much larger impact on the war and for obvious reasons its a bit hard to use an fpv from over a 1000 km away

Because drones killing soldiers on the battlefield and ones on your picture(being launched at israel/ukraine) are not "the same types".
It's unfortunate that both of those are called drones - one is effectively a dollar store cruise missile used against "strategic" targets; the other is improvised antitank/antipersonnel pgm remotely controlled by a human.

You are talking about two completely different things. FPV drones are close-range weapons and cause massive casualties. Long-range Shahed drones are easy to shoot down and mostly useless. Neither of these are really the main reason the war is so chaotic: the overwhelming range and power of air defense and lack of stealth in slavic aircraft is why.
