For hunting, the henry tube system is better than the king's gate
>doesn't pinch your fingers
>how often do you top up load while hunting
>easier to unload without having to run rounds through the action/potentially damage your expensive hunting rounds
the king's gate made more sense and was better for the winchester rifle and 1873 winchester because it was less retarded than the original henry loading system which was dangerous and fragile and the ability to top load is important if you are worried about injins. hell, you even see a lot of lever action guns go to half mags and/or shorter barrels with shorter mags after 1880 when all the injins were pacified and put on reservations

Who cares? It's a cowboy LARP gun. Buy one of each design if you want.

Then you're not going to need to reload quickly; my point still applies that the loading system chosen matters little. You're shooting a wild animal, not in a firefight.

I have a Rossi model 62 .22 pump with the same system and it sucks ass trying to get the inner sheath of the springloaded mag tube over the rims of cartridges is frustrating and god forbid you don't properly latch it and it yeets itself forward past the firing line. this is outdated even for .22 rifles and is cope

how often do you damage your expensive hunting rounds by unloading

yeh, that's the point of the op in the thread

I've only had that issue one time with my henry .22, sounds like rossi is shit

enough that the market prefers detachable mags over a floorplate now

No but why would I hunt with a Henry either? If I wanted a hunting rifle I could just get a Remington 700 for a fraction of the price, if I wanted a lever action specifically a Marlin, Winchester, or Rossi are all cheaper while coming with kings gates. Even newer Henry's now come with king's gates so why bother with a loading system that people in 1873 thought was outdated?

it's a literal copy of a Winchester 1890, built by HUE HUE BR BR from the 70's to 99' I don't expect it to be perfect, This has happened to me with western field .22's,and my Grandpa's Winchester 190. It's endemic to all rifles that use this system ( I know I have butterfingers ), you have no way of cleaning that tube that houses you magazine follower, you will build up gunk in between the follower and tube that you cannot clean without severe disassembly. Honestly the current Rossi pump .22 in their lineup is ring of fire zinc hand grenade tier if it fired CCI stingers I would sooner use a loaded HI-Point as a hammer

>rossi
>japanese winchester

also the tube load system isn't the same one used on the henry from 1860

yeah my only issue, and inb4 the jewish seethe, is they hand craft the ugliest lever gun configurations known to man. like they know what receiver, finish, stock, handguard, barrel and magtube combo would look the ugliest together and make that
