I think should have weapons that look like futuristic weapons, but near-future, rugged-looking and worn, but not jury-rigged. I like the Star Wars Rebel DH17s or the Naboo soldiers' blasters which I think are airguns

I've always liked the trope of them not being familiar with guns themselves, they do their killing through other means. they should, like Neo in Matrix, have to borrow someone's pistol when they do need it
