Does it actually feel overbuilt in-hand? The plastic doesn't look any thicker than a Glock or CZ and it still has four tiny rails holding the slide on.

Also what is the ideal form, the Tactical in .45?

They're not produced in high numbers, they are not really widely in service anymore, and they don't sell in the civilian market because there's not a huge audience that wants a non-picatinny, DA/SA or LEM hammer-fired polymer framed full size handgun with comparatively low capacity. If someone wants a USP, they're going to go and buy a USP and fork over however much HK+LGS is listing them for because they want a USP and are not penny pinching and looking to min/max whatever handgun they want to purchase. They're a niche, foreign, product, of course it's going to be expensive. Deal with it or find another gun.

It's discontinued for a reason. It was a good concept, but they executed it poorly.

Sadly the P2000SK is also discontinued because HK would rather sell P30s

Which is more reliable than striker fire. You glocktards just WANT the cheapest possible thing then wonder why it's so unreliable. Plastic is a cheap out, striker fire is a cheap out. They don't make it better, they objectively make it worse. This piece of shit is jamming in shooting videos left and right, the majority of real shooting videos involving a Glock have at least one jam now. You cannot trust your life to this trash. It's a wonder it's even still being taken seriously, they need to be given the Sig treatment and avoided like the plague.

Oh it's gets better, the Glock 20 is the only gun that I know of to be advertised by a stripper
>The Glock delegation settled on a performer in her early twenties: Sharon Dillon, a blond, full-breasted, and strikingly tall young woman. When Walter asked Dillon if she would be willing to promote Glock in Las Vegas, she agreed. Next, he asked permission of the management of the Gold Club; the club was in no position to displease one of its steadiest corporate customers.
>Walter told Dillon that she would have to go through a standard Glock four-day training. "We didn't want to send someone stupid to the show," he said. So the buxom stripper attended a program alongside personnel from the Defense De-partment and several federal agencies and police departments. Dillon's presence in the Glock classes and on the company fir-ing range caused a significant stir, to be sure. "The guys came in and asked, 'Who is this girl?"" Walter recounted. He didn't want to tell federal agents and police SWAT specialists they were training with an erotic dancer. So he didn't. "I can't tell you," Walter said. "They all thought she was with the CIA."
>"To everyone's surprise, she was the top shooter in this class and was the only one who finished all written tests 100 per-cent," Walter recalled. "She was... no dummy."
>To heighten anticipation and draw maximum attention to the new Glock 20 ten-millimeter pistol, Walter had Dillon pose for a photographer and created an enormous billboard on the highway from the Las Vegas airport to the downtown Strip, featuring her comely image. Convention attendees were greeted by Dillon's dazzling smile and head-turning figure, with the slogan: "THE HOTTEST '10' IN TOWN. See the new Glock 10mm at the Shot Show (booth 1200)."

.40 is fine
Wristlets like to bitch about how 'snappy' it is, but desu my first shooting experience at age 12 included probably 400 rounds of .40 fired through a Beretta 96 and Taurus Millenium.
That being said it doesn't really offer a massive advantage over 9mm aside from arguably better barrier penetration, and it is more expensive. But if you find a gun you like at a good price because it's chambered in .40 (Like a USP) don't hesitate to buy it just because of the caliber.

.40 S&W is a superb cartridge. Make sure you get a gun that was designed from paper to handle it
>HK USP, P2000
>SIG P229, SP2022/SIGPro, P239
>Beretta 8000, Px4
etc.
Yes it has a higher/'faster' recoil impulse hence the 'snap' but it is not a problem and easily adjusted to.
All of the time-wasting "arguments" of relative effectiveness, penetration, "knockdown power" are ridiculous. Handguns and pistol cartridges are far inferior to rifles. 40 S&W and .45 ACP are both more powerful and 'better' than 9 mm but that isn't saying much. Concentrate, focus on shot placement and marksmanship for self defense with handguns.

Yeah, I am thinking that too. In the end it's still better to have something than nothing and it's almost always about the situation and bullet placement when it comes to self defense. I hate fags who argue about "stopping power" and shit like that all the time. I just wanted some honest normal opinions so thanks for that. USP is sexo gun and it was designed for it so I think I will buy it. The price difference between 9mm and .40S&W is minuscule anyways.

old thing is produced the old way which is difficult and expensive to do
new thing is more efficient to produce and therefore cheaper

you can't simply make the old thing cheaper just because you will it, they would have to update the entire manufacturing process in order to actually build it cheaper, and redoing all that shit is typically not worth it for something already low production and no future
