What is the tactical advantage of having this as part of your kit?

Easier to lug landmines around.

Aren’t they worried about exploding from fpv drones and dropped grenades, even if they aren’t direct hits?

>What is the tactical advantage of carrying mines
You can mine logistical routes etc with infiltration/sabotage units.
They use drones to do the same thing now.

You knew this of course, trolling is for /b/ and /bant/.

>Aren’t they worried about exploding from fpv drones
Doesn't seem like it.

>To the death of the occupiers, a battalion of attack unmanned aerial systems of the Iron Brigade, which grew out of a company of attack drones (RUBpAK) and works in cooperation with drones of other brigades, quickly deployed its "wings".
>The first episodes are the disposal of the enemy in the forests and temporary shelters among the ruins of one of the settlements of the Kharkiv region.

>And the finale is a real masterpiece of combat work. The first such operation in the history of the joint forces of the Iron Brigade. One FPV drone destroyed a concrete bridge! Aerial reconnaissance revealed that the structure had long been used by the Russian army, transferring equipment and personnel. Moreover, the enemy mined the bridge: they were probably afraid of a breakthrough of Ukrainian units.
>The laid TM-62 anti-tank mines were a good gift for the pilot of the crew of his brothers from the territorial defense. The drone with explosives actually became a detonator. The result is an epic picture!

explosives dont work like they do in video games
maybe if the anti tank mines were cartoonishly filled with just straight nitroglycerin this would be a concern but anything that would set off the explosives in these mines would kill the person wearing them anyway

Having large explosives strapped to your front and back just seems weird to me. Gives off suicide best vibes.

How else do you lug them to a minefield location that you can't drive to?
Before drones and artillery deployed mines I mean, and even the artillery deployed are vulnerably to counter-battery and sometimes it's going to be some PFI that do it.

In a technical sense, that's not true because you could put 5g of HE on an FPV and set off the mine but not kill anyone who isn't carrying a chunk of HE on their chest.
Your point is mostly valid but only if the platoon is practising disciplined dispersal. If there's any clustering at all, it turns a one person kill becomes a platoon kill.

The only people wearing bomb vests for Russia are mobiks though so it's fine to just shoot them.

That's a solid basic unit upgrade for a ruthless/zerg style faction in an RTS.
Upgrade your basic spawning pool or barracks to add the "deploy 3 mines on death" ability that you either toggle or arm for a few resources.

yeah like in SC if you could upgrade your marines to drop a spider mine on death everyone would take that tech and marines would get used in TVP and TVT all of the sudden.

I think it doesn't suit the vibe or lore of the marines.
They might be pretty gung-ho and kill-focused but they're not death seekers per se.
It's kind of a Zealot ability but Protoss don't use mines do they?
Zerg as a faction are not very defensive and don't use mines either, and Zerglings have burrow so they are the mine.
Zerg would be more building a unit that has its only purpose to soak fire to protect other more valuable units and dying, deploy something offensive that seeks on the enemy. They're just not that defensive.

Protoss make the most sense I think, I'm just not sure what a Protoss mine would look like.
Maybe it turns the dying unit into a probe with a command detonation.

Protoss drone might be similar to a scarab that unburies itself and attacks.
Anonymous No.64125443
>>64125426
That seems reasonable, something like a Zealot upgrade that has it deploy scarabs on death which burrow immediately and then arm a second later and aggroes on any enemy units within range by emerging to attack.
I think the scouting element is on-theme too.

They are 10 kg, two of them is 20 kg. A 20kg pack is srs business. The alternative is to drag them related

In SC 2 lings can be upgraded to banelings, they explode on death for big splash damage, can burrow and become some kind of landmine.

Flashier than usual drone videos for comedy audiences, it turns mediocre FPV performances into laugh riots.
