It's not that it's a striker fired gun, it's that the sear modification they added to make it drop safe allows the sear to disengage the firing pin safety.

Any dumb tests you've seen with people pulling triggers to the break and forcibly displacing the slide are basically "if you disengage every safety in a gun, and then yank the slide, you might get the striker to jump off the sear and it will fire as designed, with the trigger pulled to the break"

DA is long and heavy on my beretta compared to the glock and my glock has a spongebob trigger compared to the beretta. my verdict is that the glock is slightly better because it doesnt throw my shots off as mcuh and I can dry fire for a long time without my finger getting tired. I shot my friend's shield once which I think has a fully cocked striker and it seemed like a nice middle ground. I'm sure it's possible to design a nice fully cocked striker that is safe so long as it isnt designed by sig sewer.

Striker fires are a cheap out, plastic is a cheap out, it took consoomers until late stage capitalism to realize this. Quality has gotten so low and third world produced that this was bound to happen, shit has gotten too cheaply produced. Reminder, this is not a P320 issue. Not exclusively. Their entire lineup of ARs had FCGs that catastrophically failed causing the gun to fire without a trigger pull. Reminder they managed to fuck up a bolt action and had to recall it because it was unsafe. Reminder the P365 had to go through multiple revisions to fix problems with striker drag among other issues, and the entire time Sig deflected and denied there was a problem, while fixing it. Then when it was fixed (multiple times because their first fixes didn't work), every shill they paid spammed that it was fixed now for real guys even though there was totally never a problem!

Hey how about the P250 that had constant issues with light primer strikes and reliability? How about the 556xi that Sig promised all kinds of caliber conversion for, that never happened? Well no one cared because the gun didn't work in the calibers they did release, sorry goyim thanks for the money! Hey how about the normal sig556 that had a whole host of reliability problems and part breakages, but no one cared because the gun was so inaccurate you didn't want to shoot it anyway?

How about the MPX and MCX that went through numerous iterations to fix loads of problems because they were rushed out unfinished, and you bought an early model you're screwed because new parts often aren't even compatible they're so different?

They really don't, the only real purpose of pistols is for ammo guards, officers, medics, staff NCOs, pilots, etc, where carrying a rifle would be unnecessarily burdensome for the expected threat they would encounter in the fulfilment of their duties.

It doesn't even matter what they have, they just need to have lethal force on them that could reasonably defend them from somebody with a handgun or a knife.

Separate but still important is soldiers who are doing direct action who need immediate access to a sidearm if their primary weapon goes down or runs dry, but as we all know the entire DoD uses glock 19s for this purpose.

Honestly just give them old 1911s or single action armys, or let them use their personal weapon. The shit doesn't matter. Give them something they think is cool. Regular army will never use suppressors or weaponlights, and the majority of m17s and m18s have no optics on them anyway. The whole modularity thing is a complete wash and not necessary.
