fleet consists of:
a couple rusting destroyers from the 70s
one (1) submarine that hasn’t left port since Obama was in office
half the coast guard but painted gray
admiral still insists we’re a “blue water navy”
blue water is just sewage leaking into port
day of patrol
supposed to intercept illegal fishing boats
radar is broken, just have Ensign Pablo squint real hard at horizon
spot what looks like a Chinese trawler
go to intercept
engine dies
radio dies
coffee machine dies
crew morale dies
trawler just sails away laughing in Mandarin
we get towed back by a tugboat named “Maria”
Maria more seaworthy than our entire navy
budget meeting next week
solution:
buy another museum ship from Italy
rename it “Armada Invincible”
paint it in fresh gray paint
declare victory
tfw our proudest naval action since Falklands is “not sinking in harbor”
