not to be that guy, but the reason they can't tell you if it's "good" or not is that it's so subjective it's impossible to objectively quantify that.

We know it's not excessively toxic, that would be easy to detect by very large percentage of people who drink it dying early. Think of coal miners - it's easy to see that a large percentage of them die 5-25 years earlier than they should from lung and liver issues.

Whether it's "good for you" is another story, as again, it's no so good it's easy to see, and over the span of 40-60 years that most people who drink coffee in their life drink it, it's wildly varied in what they take, and there are so many other factors that outside a large scale NHP study with just caffeine intake as a variable, we will never know.
