>Mostly just a destroyer of John Deere tractors.
How may of them are left now? Like 4 or 5?
The puccns only used them in emergency situations because they're too easy to shoot down.

Maybe that is the paradigm for helis now? Defensive and highly mobile missile trucks that lob shit from a distance

Well not the Ka-52, since multiple have been shot down with Stugnas.

As good as the Ka-52 are, I am not sure about the future of helis in a frontline combat role.

I don't know shit about rotary wing aircrafts.
Why is it superior to the Apache or the Tigre?

Nobody knows it's not public data just like 99% of military stuff. It's useless to ask /k/ something about the capability of a device, they don't know, they'll just spit out their preferred propaganda (nowadays it's Chinese)

Multiple KA-52 have been shot down with ATGMs.
A few more have been shot down with beam-riding MANPADS which the KA-52 has zero working defenses against.

That's always been their role. They were a qrf for mechanized units experiencing the assault phase.

Ironically Russia is using NATO helicopter doctrine rather than the WARSAW CAS they pioneered in Afghanistan.

RBS-70.
Swedes provided the Ukrainians with both old and brand new versions of these systems.
Supposedly they're extremely effective against alligators. One of the main reasons the alligators aren't being used much now.

The Ka-52 is stupid because it is not as well armored as the Ka-50 before it in order to make room for two crew. The fact that they share the same cockpit stance is also stupid.

This is why more of these are downed than Mi-24s, the Russians forgot their oversights with the early Mi-24s when making the Ka-52.
