Hi, /k/ I'd like your help.

I'm doing a conversion on the baneblade from 40k upgunning it with the E-100 cannon and i would like additional recommendations for other parts.

I'm thinking..
E-100 cannon
>M60A2 IR lamp
>Sheridan MG shield and cargo cage.

What else?

you would get a better reception from a WW2 tank forum with actual sizes to the turrets and such you would replace parts with

E100 topgun turret sure
Lascannon turrets replaced with PanzerIV turrets.

that's all I would do to it

Guns on /tg/ are you mad?

Give it the auxiliary fuel drums a Russian tank, pick your poison on which.
Also your favorite mine plow and some random ERA.
Long and chewy, occasionally gooey. The best things in life taste good with chop suey

Also

>M60A2 IR lamp
>Sheridan MG shield and cargo cage.

Based taste, off to a good start

Any recommendations for smoke launchers? Stock are pretty shit.

Hmmm...
I'm too dumb to know what might scale well and don't know your personal taste.
I also admittedly don't pay much attention to smoke dischargers.
But minenabwurfvorrichtung could be lulzy

You want smokes on the turrets

Sand off the rivets for a much cleaner, modern look. Then you can slap any WW2/Cold War era greeble parts on it for a really good look.

Such as what parts?

Personally, I would
>Replace commander's heavy stubber with either M60's commander cupola or MBT-70's 20mm turret
>ERA blocks, perhaps Kontakt-1 to give it more crude Cold War look
>Replace the sponson mount with BMP turret. Perhaps BMP-3 or BMD-4M to represent the bolters and lascannon
>Instead of E-100, go with M103 gun
Kinda contemplating if American CITVs and CROWs would look way too advanced for a Baneblade and overall 40k visuals.

40gay tank designs are all irredeemable because of the stupid obsession with sp*nsons. I would say to cut them off so the tank will look less retarded, but then it wouldn't look like a 40gay tank any more.

BMP turret on the sponsons mounts would be too big, perhaps a panzer 1 would fit.

>obsession with sponsons
It’s for game reasons. Tanks need to be festooned with antipersonnel weaponry because the ranges in 40k are ridiculously short in order to make melee viable. For example, the max range of the tabletop lasgun and bolter is 24”, guardsmen models are like an 1” tall so if guardsmen are 6’ tall the max range of their weapons is 50 yards. The Leman Russ MBT battle cannon has a 6’ range on the tabletop so a maximum range of 150 yards.

Would a T31E3 rangefinder work?

they may be short in a real life context, but from a game point of view they are way too long. you can have a guardsman stand in the middle of the table and he will be in range of 62% of the play area without even having to move.

anyway sp*nsons are only an issue on imperium vehicles. alien ones don't have that problem so it's not strictly for game reasons. the real reason is just because gw is a bongoloid company and the bongs made a bunch of ugly tanks irl that the game designers used as references for their toys along with the usual complete lack of mechanical understanding.
