Actually, if you go back you can find tons of LBE that contains M16 or M1911 "clips". For a good 60 odd years the concept of a detachable mag was oxymoronic. Sounds stupid but you need to remember the term magazine initially referred to a part of a fort or ship that later transitioned to small arms, for the longest time mags were integral and clips were just a means of rapidly loading more ammo. It didn't matter if they contained a spring and feed lips or were just a piece of metal. This is also why its still common among old timers and in old movies to call them clips. Honestly I'm still researching and trying to discover when the semantic shift occurred where clip became the term for a thin strip of metal meant to rapidly load rounds into a magazine and absolutely nothing else. Unrelated but "magazines" as in the paper booklet shares an etymological root with our ammo mags, both coming from the Arab word "makhazin" which means a thing or place to store things

Very simple, choosing to carry a gun with fewer rounds is not the same as being forced by the government to have fewer rounds. As much as I like revolvers, as a 2A absolutist, I want all the citizens of this free nation to have access to belt-fed machine guns if they want.

Nobody considers a 10 rd mag. It is a freak of nature, an aberration. It's inappropriate within firearms discourse
For that reason, it is unacceptable. Not just that it violates the constitution.
What gun grabbers don't get is that firearms discourse is extremely rigid, so any restriction is unacceptable simply because it is contrived. Yes, the AR having a 30 round mag is a pillar of American life, just like how people believe cars should not have computers that record our driving patterns, and oil should be drilled if we have it. These are all things that when upon being touched by government, signifies their downfall, guaranteed. It's why many Democrats actually beg each other to stop talking about gun control cause it's political rat poison.
