Aside from cost, there is no reason to include .45 alongside 10mm. But yeah, the ft hood shooting is evidence enough that the 5.7 is a nasty ass round. The jury is still out on whether it can be trusted to down a charging crackhead, but its clearly lethal as fuck and all the slander about it being mosquito bites were just fox and grapes about the cost and lack of options for guns chambered in it.

One has to be a terminal contrarian to deny the 5.7mm at this point. Time and time again it proves it can fuck up a person and that ballistic gel tests dont actually matter, if you poke a hole into a person they're gonna die, and the more, and the more accurate the holes, the faster they drop. So higher capacity, lower recoil rounds are better than bigger ones, especially if its a faster round, energy multiplies with speed while it only scales with mass. 9mm fags act like this isnt the reason everyone switched from .45 to 9mm to begin with. 5.7 is just winning and having more market because everyone knows this is where pistols and PDWs can grow.

I was just watching that lucky gunner vid on 5.7, and they noted that while it has impressive cavitation for a pistol; it only penetrates gel about 8". Doesn't that make it the ideal LE round? Very little energy upon exiting a torso, or from a right side shot it would come to rest inside the left lung after bursting the right lung and heart. In general I don't understand why maintaining energy past torso depth is even a selling point desu.

Its trivial just choose any cartridge that has a long bullet with a high ballistic coefficient. 6.5 creed, .300wm, .338 lapua mag, .50 bmg.

The actual choice of which is what range do you want to shoot, and what level of recoil you are willing to tolerate. High mass bullets improve BC and range but require more recoil to drive at the same speed.
