How would a total war between India and China look like without nukes? Is it even possible to send large amounts of men and tanks past the Himalayas? Does launching missiles, artillery and planes from such a height advantage give China an range advantage when striking into the Indian heartlands? Does it hamper Indian missiles, artillery and planes if they all have to climb to around 5km to even start to cross into Tibet? How would drones work in the thinner air? How would radars even work in such an environment with so many mountains, valleys and ravines? So many questions. It's really the most unique battlefield in the world I think.

Who do you think wins?

trying to sustain an invasion force across a mountain range is retarded, the chinks will loop around and buy passage through Afghanistan and Pakistan
I don't know who wins in the long run

If they wanted to route troops to pakistan to invade India, why go though Afghanistan first? Just send them to pakistan from the start.

You have to go over the mountains to get to Pakistan, you want a smoother route through Afghanistan as well if possible to facilitate heavier logistics

Hasen't China built a shit ton of roads, railways and other infratructure in Tibet just in case they need to go to war with India? Whilst on the Indian side the money for the same has been endlessly delayed?
Anonymous No.64150377

I don't think they do it explicitly for war. Much easier to send millions of chinks there to displace and dilute the locals.

highway doesnt have the throughput, they need rail
even then, you can never actually have enough logistical tail so its still worth setting up a route through Afghanistan regardless

The Himalayas, no. If China wants to stack Pakistan and send men there it would be more practical. Let your friend's yard get blown up.

Nepal is the pivot for Chinese land invasion of India. Katmandu is firmly on the subcontinental side and the railway being built is $5 billion (very cheap really). Apparently tunnel 35 km long under Everest pic related. So the idea would be Nepal ally, pre-stealth logistic through the tunnel, Delhi only a couple hundred km further down hill if the Indians don't have a quick response they are going to be in pieces.

China shares a tiny border with Afghanistan, it has little infrastructure, and is still quite mountainous. But speaking of rail, I won't be surprised if China starts building a railway to Pakistan in the next decade. They already have thousands of km of rail running across Tibet and are planning to build a rail line to Nepal.

It's a declared and deliberate strategy by the state of India. Every trade deal India makes comes with a loosening of visas.

Consider:
>infiltrate PLAN subs into the Bay of Bengal
>arrange some kind of diplomatic cover to push a significant portion of the PLAN's surface fleet through the strait of Malacca and into port in Burma (FONOPs? Cultural exchange? Pretend you're dick measuring against America's foreign base network?)
>mass the PLAAF in Tibet & the PLA in Yunnan
>declare war
>PLAAF strikes Allahabad & AFBs in Nagaland before rebasing in Burma
>PLA invades Nagaland w/ PLAAF support
>PLAN secures the Bay of Bengal
>launch a feint on Kolkata from the NE
>get bogged down
>launch an amphibious assault on Kolkata
>use the city's access to the rest of the country's freight rail to facilitate further offenses
>???
>probably end up taking horrendous casualties and pulling out, but not before triggering the largest humanitarian crisis of the 21st century

pretty easy actually

China never had bad environment control, they just were corrupt officials that didn't enforce rules
but some always complied
early 2000s were only bad because of the quick growth, not because single big sources of smog

also India has
>even worse geography for trapping smog
>farmers burn their fields every year
>almost no regulation regarding mechanical emitters

In a protracted ground war the Indians will win the early stages would be all Chinese
The Chinese will get to india however they can and take early victories if this secures them the win they'll take it if not the Chinese don't have a particularly proud martial tradition and will surrender en masse if they encounter real resistance
Whether they try to continue with drones and the like idk but while both are paper tigers compared to what they project the individual Chinese are also paper tigers and most likely the last in their bloodline compared to the individual indian
