The price isn’t that much higher if you look online and buy in bulk. Adjusted for bidenflation this is basically the same price. Sentryammo.com if you actually want it and you’re not just bitching for no reason.

Aguila is GOAT for me, works in all (3 of) my 22s and only slightly more FTFs than cci.
They are more greasy than others, so the gunk needs to come out more often during long range days, but you just cant beat the price for the function. Easily 2nd best behind CCI's quality stuff.

btw buying in bulk isn't a thing but maybe LGS can offer you a deal if you buy in bulk
there are no easy peasy ammodealers or ammoseek.com because ammo is regulated and you need a federal license to trade ammo (in america ammo is unregulated)

Wow! We haven't gotten that brand since the 90s AFAIK. I actually have an old box of Vostok; it's the bottom box in this picture. Does Vostok still make steel case 22lr?

Pretty much what I hear any time I mention the stuff. There's a reason it's in the collection and I don't own bulk amounts of it (though I did have a chance to buy a 500rd brick of yellow-orange box junior once).

That means prices are only going up.

My dad was on the pistol shooting team at MSU in the 1980s and he had a story about this garbage. They used MCM pistols and the skinflint guy in charge of ammunition would only give them 10 rounds per session.

Then one day a pipe broke in the basement and flooded the room where they were storing this ammunition in wooden crates. That means they had to burn up all the ammo they had before it rusted, which wouldn't be very long.

Basically the range was open to everyone who wanted to shoot and they could do so as fast as they wanted. It turned into an open invitation 24hr long IPSC match. Clearing malfunctions became part of the course because at least two were guaranteed every 10 shots. Surprisingly the MCMs ran very well despite getting filthier than just about any handguns in history.

It definitely seems rust-prone even without the help of water; I'm not sure where my ammo has been stored since the 90s (I bought it recently) but it's rusted even though it was waxed at the factory. I've heard how filthy it is before; I can't imagine shooting it in a gun with a tighter match/target chamber goes very well even normally lol.
>having to burn through entire crates of this ammo
IIRC normally you got 5 (?) bricks (500rds/brick) in a crate when it got imported to the US, so about 2500rds per crate, but it appears they also came in 6000rd crates (brass cased in this pic which I didn't know was a thing). Either way there's no doubt they'd probably end up as one of the filthiest guns at the end of that day lol. No matter what you're easily above 3000rds/gun shooting ammo known to be filthier than any 22LR ammo I've heard about. I can't imagine shooting that much ammo out of my Ruger Standard in a day; shooting dirtier ammo out of a gun with much tighter tolerances must've definitely been something to witness lol.
