How do I renew my interest in this hobby?

After what feels like 5-10 years of an industry focused on tactical min-maxing, I'm so fucking beat... I just want to shoot irons in the woods at this point.

I moved from ars and glocks to revolvers, shotguns, and bolt guns. Much more cozy. Also get something in 22lr.

Then don’t. Your tastes will change as you get older. Just find out what you actually like to do, even if it’s not shooting.
Just don’t become a loser who just watches TV all day, every day.

Go in the woods and shoot irons.

You could of avoided this by getting an ACOG like I did nearly 25 years ago now and never changing. I didn't even drop irons when people said they were obsolete even though I haven't used them in almost a quarter century now.

What prevents you from doing that?
And why do you care about "the industry"?
How woman-brained can someone be?
You know what, use whatever gun you have and shoot yourself you absolute faggot retard.

I find my attitude towards the hobby changes entirely depending on ammo prices. In 2017 I was shooting weekly. Weekly slowly became monthly, but particularly when ammo prices spiked in 2020, monthly became twice a year, and now it's once a year to make sure all my stuff still shoots straight.

Then buy an AR like in your picture. Plastic handguards, fixed front sight and carry handle, CAR or milspec-style stock. You're not the only one getting tired of le ebin tacticool stuff. There's a reason so much "retro" stuff is being made these days. Get a Del-Ton or an old Bush Master.

You got burned out playing with too much shit and don't know what you want anymore, sounds like you need to shut your brain off and take one gun and some steel to the woods OP.

Get the 30,000 foot perspective.
Sometimes you have to walk away from a thing in order to be able to appreciate it.
Good luck.

You answered your own question. Go shoot irons in the woods. Nobody's stopping you, that was always allowed.

Get a good spring air rifle with a wood stock in .25 for plinking / pest control. Springers are uiniquely difficult to shoot well consistently, so it forces you to slow down and pay attention to every detail of your hold, trigger control, followthough. Get a decent scope on it, and calculate your drops on an old phone with chairgunner or strelok. The .25 has a very satisfying punch on targets of all type. You can shoot in your back yard endlessly, and for relatively cheap.

I too tired of the tactical nonsense a while ago. Renewing my love of airguns has renewed my love of shooting!
