No, it just causes acute pain in all four fingers during aggressive thrusts. It also slows down draw and presentation and limits the range of grips you can use. The best grip is a barrel shaped grip such as the Kabar and virtually every other war era combat knife combined with a minimalistic crossguard as a failsafe and for defensive use.

Any knife with an >8" blade can be concealed high on the hip with the blade going down your pants. I've carried full size combat fixed blades every day for 20 years.
>>64165413
How do you wear it? I have a 6ish inch benchmade knife which is uncomfortable from how it pokes at me. But I think its mostly the fault of the sheath
>>64165424
I wear it on it's own belt high on my hip, with my gun on the opposite side. I hold my pants up with suspenders. I have to wear suspenders anyway because the cut of modern pants doesn't put the belt line where it needs to be for me.
>>64165397
Fairbairn himself carried one with him all the time.
But tbf they had those highrise pants for me where the pockets were probably a foot deep, so it was easy to carry one with you.
>>64164986
I really want one of these, but they're illegal in like half of states because of the knuckles, aren't they?
I could keep it at home I guess but I want to larp in the woods with my trench guns.
>>64165570
Modern pants are cut in such a way that when you hold them up with a belt, the crotch hangs so low and there's so much drag in the thighs that you cannot perform basic maneuvers like squatting and high stepping without manually pulling up your pants to accommodate it. This chronically promotes bad form when lifting and working at ground level and in my opinion is a silent epidemic that is singlehandedly responsible for premature back and knee problems. I wear suspenders in conjunction with knee pads which keep fabric bloused above my knee, giving me 100% freedom of motion at all times. Another advantage of this is that I can keep long bladed knives and large pistols on their own belt without discomfort or printing.
>>64165638
Sounds like you're wearing inappropriate pants.
There are more than enough work pants that sit correctly and let you do a roundhouse kick if you want.
Though I would really like to know what pants those are, because I can only ever find ones that are cut in such a way that if I wear a belt everything gets squeezed in an unhealthy way.
>>64165779
No such thing. All pants you can buy in the USA leave the crotch too low when secured with only a belt. My body type is completely average. I have watched men ruin their backs with bad lifting and squatting form for years and you can literally see how they're subconsciously trying to avoid ripping the crotch seam because they're been conditioned to do that from a young age. If you can't slav squat on command without touching yourself then your pants do not fit you.
>>64165814
If it's such a big problem, why not wear pants with elastan, or sweatpants? Both don't rip even when there's enough room in the crotch to put a strain on the fabric.
The only times I have ripped my pants was when I was drunk at parties squatting random people. Wearing regular pants and then hip driving is bad.
>>64165835
Because of drag in the thighs. You need to keep the fabric lifted. The best way to accomplish this that I have found is suspenders+kneepads.
>>64165638
I fucking hate this shit with the pants I'm constantly ripping my crotches out because of it. Do you know any brands that aren't cut like that?
>>64166456
You ever been dick deep in the mud in a trench in some god forsaken trench in Europe while a bunch of fucking crouts try to overrun your position and kill you son? No? Stop asking stupid fucking questions before I rip your mommy's tit out of your mouth and do a little sucking myself.
>>64166442
From what I gather, trench knives are illegal in 23 states explicitly, as in they are literally illegal point blank by name, which is ridiculous.
That's just states where they are banned by name, not even considering those that ban them based on "features".
Fucking ridiculous bullshit.
If I can carry a gun in your state I should be allowed to carry a trench knife.
>>64164818 (OP)
I count three separate offensive weapon violations in the same device. That is enough America for today. Just need the Putin MAGA edition and you’d have the ultimate red neck knife.
>>64172873
What about that is hard to believe? I was in Anchorage recently and while at a restaurant I saw fixed blade knives on every man, all of them at least 6in blades. You think there are people out there that will carry a gun every day but a knife is just too hard to do? I'm LMAOing at your life.
>>64164818 (OP)
No, it doesn't. It gets in the way if you need to spin the knife mid fight for a better strike angle. That grip would fuck up a knife fighter.
I'm sure it would help someone taking your knife. The asian russian solider who was hand to hand with the ukie had his knife taken from him and got stabbed but took it back and finished him off enough to walk away and toss a nade. His tribal knife was a smooth wooden grip knife though.
>>64165413 >Any knife with an >8" blade can be concealed high on the hip with the blade going down your pants. I've carried full size combat fixed blades every day for 20 years.
the only thing going down your pants was your uncle's hands when he molested you, faggot
>>64164818 (OP)
The fact that it only showed up for a few years in WW1 and was never used again by any serious military after that tells you that it was not a good design.
>>64174595
This. >Can hit with the knuckle
You're not supposed to do that, stabbing is more effective. >Ton of extra weight in the handle and the knuckle
Makes it much slower. You also gain heft, but you don't need heft in a short bladed weapon. >Harder to grip
Often when it comes to knifes, you want to deploy it as quickly as possible. With the knuckle, especially the separate finger knuckle, you will take longer to grip it and are at risk of fumbling it.
>>64177869 >>You're not supposed to do that, stabbing is more effective.
Wrong. A punch to the head using brass knuckles at force will render a person at a minimum completely disoriented. A stab can go unnoticed in a fight. I have a stab wound to prove it. >>Makes it much slower. You also gain heft, but you don't need heft in a short bladed weapon.
Wrong again. Its not slower in any significant way. Its a pound. The men using these were also using table legs, buttstocks and dressed in wool. >>Often when it comes to knifes, you want to deploy it as quickly as possible. With the knuckle, especially the separate finger knuckle, you will take longer to grip it and are at risk of fumbling it
Wrong again. The boys in the wws were fond of wearing knives in a position not on the belt. Meaning the could clear them in a single action. Some uses the blade down grip that makes sense if you understand trench warfare.
>>64174595
The actual complaints from actual soldiers were that they were not good for anything other than stabbing and punching. Joe wants the one knife to do all. And that the damn blades kept snapping off in people.
The governments complaints were they cost too much to make, and the blades kept breaking off in people.
It just made sense to move to a more utilitarian cheaper knife.
>>64165814 >my body type is completely average
so you're obese and wearing pants that are too big below your fat fuck stomach. got it. i live in the us and i have never had mobility problem wearing pants that fit properly.
>>64165397
I mean yes but at that point just carry a gun. Pretty much anywhere with laws loose enough to let you carry an 8 inch knife that's very obviously just for gutting people will let you carry a gun.
>>64164986 >but they're Chinese trash
Is there no one that makes a good version?
I was disappointed to find out that no one makes a good Italian stiletto. >>64165627 >>64166442 >>64166843 >Troon shoots up a Christian school (again). >Law abiding anons can't even take their gear inna woods because they are law abiding.
We live in a sick society.
I have a regular knuckle duster and I'm in the same situation. It just sits in a drawer while I run around legally armed with a pistol. >my trench guns.
Pics? Maybe some words?
>>64179305 >I was disappointed to find out that no one makes a good Italian stiletto.
AGA Campolin is very well spoken of, they're one of the original switchblade stilletto makers, and have normal prices, not "custom knife" prices, although they are handmade.
Well, normal prices for like a Benchmade automatic, but less than customs.
