What weapon issued by the US military in1968 are you bringing with you into the jungle to face hordes of hungry dinosaurs?

That'd do a better job stopping Tyrannosaurus then an M16 I imagine. There's a guy in the movie using an M14, and it does a lot better than the M16s and AKs.

Fun scene. Wouldn't recommend watching that clip if you're planning on watching the movie though since it's at the very end.

I think that'd be good for backup, I'm not so sure about primary weapon though. Wouldn't you want something with further effective range?

AKM easy
That movie is great by the way, unironically a better dinosaur movie anything JP has put out since the lost world.

Basically the trailer kek.

Watched it yesterday and really enjoyed it. Though it has its flaws, it's still embarrassing for the big studios that this is as good overall, and looks as good as it does with 1/30th the budget of Jurassic World.

I think MGs would be great for keeping predators at a distance from base camps. M60 might be good in the field agaisnt larger dinosaurs, but could be kind of heavy and unwieldy for a raptor ambush?

It's pretty good for the budget they were working with, CGI and sound effects were very impressive.
Story and acting is a mixed bag because of the monetary constraints.
It's worth a watch if you liked the premise.

M2 would be ideal for static defence. M60 if on foot.

5.56 is just too light to quickly drop anything large, whereas automatic .308 will help get the job done.

AKM with issue ammo would be trash, even worse than an M16. The terminal ballistics of milspec 7.62x39 suck ass, at least 5.56 tends to create good sized wound cavities, the x39 tends to be too slow on impact to really create big temporary cavities so it just drills 7.6mm holes.

But thats just my experience shooting several hundred medium to large size animals.

Fully auto would probably be pretty devastating to dinosaurs irl, especially ueful for big ones. Though I did think it was cool in the movie that an M14 seemed to do a good job.
