New Vortex Defender Enclosed
Vortex has a listing for a CCW and ST defender using RMSc and Deltapoint Pro footprints
Apparently, these aren't being made in Vortex's factory, they are using another source that makes products for companies like Cyelee and many others
They are supposed to be more or as reliable as current offerings from Holosun
What are your thoughts on this new, cheaper, possibly better enclosed Vortex?

That it's bullshit they're charging this for a closed dot when they charged the same for the old open one.

Vortex dots in the past have executed poorly. They have processed the worst refresh rates, battery lifes far below advertised, and suffer from relatively high parallax. That being said, their recent pistol dots SEEM to have addressed most of those issues. Ive had durability issues with their razor lpvos so Im unsure i could personally ever trust a vortex on a carry gun but these do seem promising. Im also just pretty uninterested from using any coin battery than cr2032s. All of my optics run off those or aa’s. If i was down to use CR1632s id stick to holosuns proven handgun dots

DPP footprint is narrower allowing for it to be direct mounted to 1911 slides. The Staccato DPO optic plate footprint is a modified DPP footprint that uses the same screw pattern

IIRC it makes it easier for fit a battery

There is a reason it's on rebate, because it's overpriced garbage. Imagine investing in discounted, overpriced garbage that can't sell. Buyers are kicking themselves for paying the full price, and you will be too when it's rebated for $400 later.

It is not great, but is a good optic and durability tests have shown it’s very durable befitting the RMR name.

The attachment method sucks. The deck height sucks, there is no battery in the bottom of the optic it does not need to be that tall. It is so tall some RMR height cowitness sights aren’t tall enough. The battery is now top mounted the bezel is super thick in the most important part (the top).

let's be fucking honest it's an ACRO but with a normal sized window, not as wide and SLIGHTLY better mounting
other enclosed red dots being made now are miles ahead and it's needlessly chonky, it might as well be a fucking mailbox, the holosun enclosed clone ones are much better

I bought one three days ago from Amazon. The dot would disappear in the bottom 1/5" of the glass. I took the battery out and put it back in and it stopped working completely.
I'm certain it was the updated version since the manual said the auto-shutoff happens after 10 minutes vs the 14 hours it used to take.
Two hours ago I sent it back to Amazon.

he's just trying to shit on a product not even released

first off everyone knows the ccw has an issue the st and xl don't

also the door they copied from the deltapoint sucks, it is known

the new designs don't even use the same door so his point is moot

and according to op post, it won't even be made in the same place the other optics are made

just ignore the fudd, he probably broke the optic himself, how does changing the battery make it break

I was referring to the open emitter one. My mistake.
>>64206108
If the battery cover was blocking it, then it wouldn't display a dot on the upper 4/5. Changing the angle of view doesn't change the angle of the led. I was going to call you retarded, but I had the same thought at first which is what prompted me to replace the battery (multiple times). After that it stopped working.

I don't think it's user error. I think it's manufacturer error. I've heard of a lot of other cases, even on trijicons, where the purchaser had to send it back for this same problem and they got a new one without this issue.

You're a dumb fucking boomer, I shouldn't even bother
your glass is literally a mirror you dumbfuck, the 'size of the beam' or whatever doesn't matter
it's literally a light being reflected, look into the front of your optic at the emitter, make sure you don't fucking shoot yourself
then move your head around and note how you can see the emitter from many fucking angles, now put your thumb between your eye and the emitter so it's not covering the whole thing just blocking it from your eye
then move your head so your thumb isn't blocking it, and see if you can see the fucking emitter
light works the same way directly as it does in a mirror doesn't it?

Here's the exact issue I was having.
I'm certain that the battery cover was not the issue. The battery was seated properly and the cap was torqued down as far as I thought it could go without breaking it.
There's no need to get your panties in a wad over a problem someone ELSE had with some cheap chinese dot.
