Are handheld burning lasers any good for self-defense?

Like, obviously you're not going to be incinerating your assailant, but most people don't have the goggles required to not get their eyes burned out and ruined. Also good against certain aircraft.

Am I missing something? Why don't more people utilize burning lasers?
