>Yeah sorry, we've tried this academic approach for decades
We didn't, really. Also, the whole fucking point is that performative missile attacks like this ARE NOT CHANGING SHIT substantially.
>The 87 IQ people who pilot cartel boats are also much more likely to pay attention
They're not. That's the fucking point. That's why these kind of tactics fail every fucking time. The kind of schmucks doing these smuggling runs are the kind who are completely confident that they will never get caught.

Do you? It's not even a fucking rounding error in the big picture. The whole goddamn drug trade operates under the reality that a sizeable majority of the merchandise will never make it to the end customer, and that the rest that does make it through will still make them massive profits. The profit margin on this shit literally is THAT high.
FFS, these people build dedicated SINGLE-USE semi-submersibles as smuggling plattforms. And even those things pay for themselves and another dozen more with a single succesful trip. $100k in outboard motors is fucking nothing. Forget several times over, if that boat had a decent load abord, it going through would've paid off the damn thing a hundred times over.

Second time STILL is. Wether you arrest the schmucks or blow them up doesn't really change anything of substance. They're beyond disposable. If you wanna do something of substance involving missiels and bombs with this shit, you're gonna need to start dropping JDAMs on cartel bosses instead of this useless showboating.
