>Who ALLOWED them (baltics, poles, etc) to live these lives of luxury far beyond the means of the average russian???
Oh boy, there's a whole iceberg behind this culture and psychology. The highlights are:
- overwhelming debilitating paternalism, as in people generally aren't independent in their lives and should be, everything is controlled in a top-down way;
- this weird type of collectivism, which somehow mixes with being atomized, as in people will gladly view themselves as being part of the regime (in an "us vs them" shit), even if the regime didn't care for them once and didn't provide anything, yet at the same they won't care about their compatriots, neighbors, friends, relatives and even direct family members;
- a deeply seated view of the world as a zero sum game, i.e. if someone else has something then that obviously means that you don't have it and thus you were robbed of it, hence the nigger-tier ass blasted reaction to other countries "living good", since "hurr-durr they've stole this from us";
- a deep level of cynicism that you wouldn't even believe to be possible, this is partially how the RU psyche allows them to handle their doublethink-tier bullshit, but also allows them to cope that they aren't fucked up, since "ACKshually everyone else is also fucked up like that, they just hide it better" (one of the basis of so-called reverse cargo cult);
