Generally. A 22/24lb spring usually does the trick. Steel frame is a must for more than incidental. 45 Super use. There are plenty good threads on various 1911 forums about setting up a 1911 for dedicated. 45 Super use, they are probably the most common base for a .45 super gun. The main thing is the recoil spring, but there are some other small part swaps/mods that improve reliability. Alternatively, you can get a USP .45, they run supers fine with zero mods, though a lot of people (including me) swap to a 22lb recoil spring, which allows you to use both ACP and Super without issue.
