Nobody really expected Bayraktar to make a big impact. Russia was supposed to have the largest amount of, if not the best then at least good and effective, ground based AA anywhere. Nobody talked about it because it was effectively a Turkish copy of a Predator drone and the US already had those for almost two decades. A domestic copy of an existing system, is just another version if that system. The capability in the paradigm is known.
>well Ukraine changed the paradigm
No, it showed what decades of endemic corruption does to both a military and a MIC and again showed that hypercentralized command and control is always inferior to local flexibility and intiative. It also proved that without air supremacy warfare returns to 1940, and when you can't use armored elements to acheive breakthrough and manuver it returns to 1917.
>but FPV drones
Are a weapon born of desperation and an iteration on another concept, also born of desperation. Have they completely changed the paradigm that you need boots to hold ground, armor to force breakthrough, and air to suppress things that kill either? No. They're another tool for the individual because it gives both basic recon and strike capability in a cheap package, and they're effective because russia is so shit at warfare, and yes the US is going to study and figure out how to use them and integrate them into the battlespace.
I get you man nothing makes me quite as excited as seeing fourth gen aircraft with fat payloads but as far as exciting things they're just an improvement on what already exists.
