I miss crates of surplus ammo like you wouldn't believe.

Who knew it would all come to a halt within 5-10 years? I should have bought more, we all should have.

7n6 would have still been importable until 2022 if that one dumbass didn't make a 5.45 AK pistol
Kinda is what it is, 5.45 is dead dead.
Turkey is probably the best hope but I haven't seen much turkish 5.56/7.62x39. Only 9mm and 12 gauge.
Allegedly it's only gonna get worse with material prices going up

They're just personal things, pictures, random objects I stole from my first job, an interesting looking stick I found, an emblem off a pontiac firebird, etc. The crate was empty and I was moving from home so jammed a bunch of stuff in it because I needed another container to hold it. It was a place to organize all the things that didn't have their own category

Arent these things only expensive now because of restrictive import laws against russia specifically? Not that there arent giant stockpiles of countless millions of rounds of 7.62x39, 54r and 5.45x39 and guns that shoot them

7n6 and steel core chinese ammo got banned because AP handgun ammo is banned from import. My memory is hazy on the words of the law, but it's why lead core imports were untouched.

NTA but I haven't bought any 7.62x39 since right before the import ban IIRC. Maybe a little earlier like early covid. I have a little 30 cal ammo can stacked up to the top with TulAmmo, a couple random neat 20rd boxes, and that's it. Can't find the can unfortunately because I have it dated and priced IIRC. Right now, prices are garbage and everything is Turkish mystery """non corrosive""" ammo for like 40cpr (holy shit actually 45) which is nearly double what TulAmmo was at Cabelas before covid (box of 20) IIRC. Or buy one of several other options like "insanely overpriced Romanian spam can" (no 2 pack crate option; go fuck yourself circa winter '24, Cabelas) or whatever else there is. I want to shoot my SKS. I want to get a KNS for my AK and shoot that too. But with prices like these? I could shoot my AR for a ~7cpr savings/rd (Fiocchi 55gr @ 38.7cpr, incl not mystery brand options), buy a fucking MP5 and shoot that for a huge 24-25cpr savings (18.9cpr Magtech Steel, 19.6cpr Winchester steel, 19.9cpr Blazer aluminum, 20cpr Winchester brass), or buy a 22 Mag and STILL only pay about 22cpr for fucking CCI. I really want to shoot my SKS. I'd love to finally get to complete my AK and see how good it shoots. But fuck if I'm going to pay that price for Turkish ammo. Only decent option seems to be that Norma, maybe. And even then...
