What is the gap between "good" and the base?

Russia-tier is the base. Good is the NATO standard.

it doesn't matter how good your gear is if the people in charge are retarded. just look at the Vietnam war.

Equipment and leadership

NVG isnt that big of a deal.
If you have mortar you can use smoke, flares or just shell them.
Thermals on the other hand are harder to deal with.

Yup, good training and good leadership can get you pretty far

>Good Equipment

These two synergize. You need good training to make use of good equipment.
We'll just have to ignore our commanders.

Training and leadership. I'd rather be in the army still rocking WWII vintage gear but everyone is a crack shot and the commanders make Napoleon look like Haig than have top of the line rifles and kit but either be serving alongside actual retards or be commanded by clowns

Good training and leadership.
There has never been a time in history where those two did not make a much better force.
Also
>Good equipment and training
Leader gets you killed, only exception is when it is nonexistant, then you get cool stuff like the white death in ww2
>Good equipment and leadership
No point in a gun that shoots better when you can not shoot. Usually bad training implies sports injuries too, so it is a double negative.

You can have the best leaders, strategy and tactics out there, but without the operational and material ability to execute those plans, it won't matter in the end. All three are essential, but leadership is the least of them, behind equipment and training respectively.

Good training and leadership, it's not even a fucking contest
Good equipment is a force multiplier and the quality what gets multiplied is exactly training and leadership

There is no level of gucci equipment you can offer me that would make me pick it over having buddies who know what they're doing or commanders I trust

Does nor matter how much you hate ukraine or nato, Russia has always practiced the tactics of throwing as many untrained dudes with cheap weapons at the enemy.

>Russia-tier is the base. Good is the NATO standard.
well, let's put it this way:
>NATO army, Russian training
would be an utter shitshow
>NATO army, Russian leadership
the leadership is corrupt, the colonels horse-trade recruits around, the officers extort the soldiers and the sergeants rape them, so that's not gonna fly either
>NATO army, Russian equipment
is essentially 80s NATO
it'll work

Completely decentralized, no real leaders, and thus no head of the snake to be targeted. Leaders will develop themselves as primary combatants.

What is good training and leadership?
What would be the difference of those two comparing the medieval and modern age, loosely speaking.
Could modern training and leadership be applied in a medieval setting to juice up and turn those knights into gigachads
Anonymous No.64247879
>>64247850
probably not. they had good training and leadership in there time. a good leader today would still be a good leader in the middle ages, and modern training doesn't really apply to the combat of the time.

I think that this is the correct answer.
