makes it harder to get a good angle regardless. a typical pg7 fpv won't pen the abrams in most spots, the top and engine deck are the more vulnerable places

the turret ring is a weakspot on every tank but that's hard to adequately armor without sacrificing mobility of the turret

your soldiers suffer a permanent INT and CHA debuff if you use ork equipment as a non-ork faction. you can't manufacture it because it requires the unique "smekalka" perk only available to orks.

you thinking about one FPV attacking the tank but the reality is literally dozens of them in a few minutes coming from different angles hitting the net support, the tracks or simply the rear of the tank
then the crew bail having accomplished nothing and losing the tank, there is a reason neither side is bother with thanks anymore

What about tips? Can the russians expect a 20% tip for a good fight?

>>64244437
>you thinking about one FPV attacking the tank
which is how FPVs work, because they need human operators. any given section of the front is in range of a couple FPV teams at best, and each team is rate limited to a single drone every 5-15 minutes depending on the distance to the target.

you aren't getting hit by swarms of them, you're getting hit periodically as they launch, hit or miss, assess, and launch again
>neither side is bother with thanks anymore
Ukraine still uses them as a rapid reaction force to provide direct fire support, or at least they did back in spring when I saw some videos posted by them of using tanks that way

>Ukraine still uses them as a rapid reaction force to provide direct fire support,
they use them as fast reaction units
the 47th mech brigade is equipped with the M1A2 and its basically their most elite unit and it was thrown in to reinforce areas where russian presence was the heaviest

on paper, the tanks are meant to be supported by their mech infantry or vice-versa, rather than to support infantry
but the nature of their mission, being to reinforce critical areas, it was inevitable that they would work in tandem with infantry from different units
but they are still largely independent, they can and do break off from other units to engage enemies on their own

I wonder if they used any tanks in the bunny ears cauldrooning arc. Azov was committed, they have their own intergral tanks do they not?

Why couldn't the Trophy system be tweaked to track and engage lower velocity threats like drones? Seems like it would be pretty simple to modify the software on an existing system like that, and the hardware part is already solved.

Wouldn't be surprised if it could. However, the US doesn't export our best shit for a good reason and I didn't see any Ukraine Abrams with a Trophy system.

>crew bail
>after dozens of hits
Uh... you know that's a big deal right? The crew being alive to bail instead of being splattered all over the bottom of the turret as it's launched a couple hundred yards in the air is what makes the Abrams already a significantly better vehicle than Russian equivalents.

Tanks are much easier to replace than experienced tank crews.

That's why russians are constantly bragging about how many tanks they make and how they're definitely not having to refurbish increasingly poor quality hulks to maintain any armor presence right?

They train the dogs to look for food under the tanks then they starve them and kill them. Sarin was too good for these niggers.
Anonymous No.64247048 [Report]
>>64245519
that guy is full of shit anyway. the crew bails to begin with because it's really hard to actually kill a tank, usually the best you'll get is a mission or mobility kill, forcing it to disengage or be abandoned. this applies even to junk like t-62 obr 2024s, let alone western tanks

given dense enough drone overwatch a tank won't last long because it will get immobilized or have mission critical equipment knocked out. it will also get targeted by arty and heavier PGMs. but it often takes them many repeat attacks to fully finish one off if only using drones.

also, why are there two independent thermal cams now? I get that there's supposed to be a gunner cam and a commander cam, but historically the gunner cam has been fixed to the turret and can't rotate independently.

cope cages all but disappeared in late 2022 and early 2023, because they didn't do jack shit against javelins. anti-drone nets appeared in mid 2023 to deal with a completely different threat.

It is much easier to declutter fast moving objects from the background. A drone, especially a fiber optic drone that flies 3 feet off the ground at walking speed is the worst possible target

we are realistically going to have to use machine vision
