Political post? yes, unfortunately. Charlie Kirk is dead. At a collage campus not less than 24 hours ago he was brutally shot. Video of this event spread social media and many people and the media expressed their solidarity against political violence.
Not all, however. A large, loud, minority of people have expressed joy at this political commentator being killed. Saying this such as "he deserved it" or "i would have done it myself!". This type of rhetoric is fucking crazy. In one video you can see people cheer in the background of a TV station set about the passing of Kirk. So, if a milk toast conservative who had mild views on politics gets shot and killed and people dont care, what does this say about me? I have my fair share of hot takes. Im not a hateful person. I judge people on their character. But nevertheless I do have my opinions and they do go against the culture in a provocative way sometimes. I thought I could deal with this by being a pleasant person but its not working. People still act vile to me. I never get people to consider my opinions. Its like they just dont care, and thats probably correct
So, now i know that many people dont care if people like me get killed. Even if I get shot and killed and you can see the bloody details, they still wouldnt care. So, I'd like a gun. I don't even like guns. I wish they didn't exist. But after being alive for so long (20 years old) I think I want a firearm to defend myself. I just have some hangups about buying something that dangerous. I won't treat it like a toy but it makes me nervous. But the outside world makes me a bit nervous too, so I want a gun
The political violence in America is heating up dramatically. I need a gun to defend myself. Its surreal to see something like this happen. Equally surreal to see peoples reactions to this event
