Lol this is wrong actually. The Mossberg and FAL suffered some serious rust because of an incident in a rainstorm and in cleaning that off much if the finish was worn away on the heat shield/handguard respectively. I sprayed the FAL to prevent the rust from creeping from the impossible nooks and crannies in the metal portion of the Israel handguard.

As for the 1911 the slide and frame were originally parkerizing but in pistol smithing I fucked up the dovetail for the new front sight and had to redo it which meant polishing the material afterward, not to mention polishing/shaping the grip safety and other parts of the gun. Afterwards I was lazy and had a classmate use it for a krylon painting class and he fucked it up and rust actually spread UNDER the coating so I had to rub off the finish to get it and I haven't gotten around to refinishing it. So yeah all more or less incidental

Cylinder extension doesn't make much sense because it isn't extending anything. The buffer tube is called a receiver extension on ARs because the bcg travels into it and so it is part of the receiver in its function

On a gun that does not have this problem, when you pull the trigger and the gun goes off, the trigger is reset, even if you're deathgripping the trigger.
