I hate what everyone did to the PDW concept. Does it even mean anything anymore? It’s supposed to be an intermediate class of gun, between rifle and pistol, but neither rifle nor pistol. Something with extra value in and of itself as a wearable/passively carryable gun that can reach out much farther than a pistol, and much more accurately. But now its definition has been expanded to include everything from pistol+chassis to a truncated rifle (we used to call these “carbines”) with a telescoping stock.

I own a cz scorpion, MP5 clone, and flux raider. When it comes to a medium SMGish sized gun the MP5 easily takes the cake. Only other gun I'd say comes close would be the roller delayed stribogs but even those don't beat it. When it comes to being a PDW though, the raider absolutely mogs it. The size difference simply cannot be overstated. Love that little shit like you wouldn't believe. It'd be absolutely perfect with a well implemented FRT and id unironically take it over an AR/shotgun for HD at that point. Of course there's the problem of using a sig p320 as a base, with all the issues those have. Fow what it's worth though I've never seen any reports of raiders having a UD of any sort.

I've recently become severely interested in some of the 3dp Glock PDWs like the corser, pretty much the same concept as the raider but using a Glock slide/internals. Shame the Glock Farts seem to kinda suck.

Mass stampings is cheaper than polymer with a big enough production line, the problem weren't he stampings but all the other steps that make sure it runs perfectly. Skip those and you get the Turkish version.

I decided to put one together myself this year. Took me til now to get it all together.
Bought an MP5F kit minus bolt group, trigger pack and stock for $500.
Upgraded RCM MP5F E-type bolt group was $465.
Flat cost $200.
Bought an FMP G3 kit for $124, because that was the cheapest way to get a fucking trigger group for some reason.
Welded up the flat, milled the G3 pack to work and be legal and replaced the ejector lever, bought a Midwest picatinny end cap for $75, will use a side fold brace I've got laying around.
Still need to get another couple mags, fingers crossed I'll be able to get it all wrapped up for less than $1500.
