RETARD. TRADOC G2 is an American institution that covers threats. It's about educating people about how a nation will fight.

What the fuck is this even supposed to mean?

Units dont take initiative so they'll be bent over backwards if their HQ gets taken out.

Seems rather inflexible to me.
Anonymous No.64255124 [Report]
>>64255118
The flexibility is that even pogs and artillerymen are expected to storm US positions if the infantry get wiped out.

It was only fairly recently that they moved away from Soviet style (read as: useless) heavily scripted exercises. Also, they very definitely don’t train more often than the US

Theirs last battles were against pajeet with sticks and rocks, they won. If their opponent use guns like in they invade Vietnam in 1989, they get theirs ass kick.

It's been over 10 years ago that they activated their dedicated OPFOR brigade and started their NTC coutnerpart.

Anyone have the image of the chinese officer being told his entire logistical section just got knocked out by nerve agents or tactical nukes?

From what little I have seen and read, and accepting that most of what the west sees of their army is heavily filtered through the lens of propaganda, the PLA seems to have motivated, reasonably professional soldiers, though their training has (apparently) heavy "rule of cool" influences. I say apparently because I have no way of knowing if the tacticool room clearing/drone flying/rpg inside a building videos are reflective of actual training practices or just Cawadooty tier propaganda/recruitment pieces. I know the Chinese are *capable* of producing quality machines and tools, and this should translate to quality military equipment, but whether or not their MIC is as corrupt and corner-cutting as their construction and for-export machinery industries is not something I have the answer to. On paper, the PLA is a sizeable, well-equipped force with at least minimally competent training, but no combat experience in the past 50 years. I think that the PLA presents itself as far more capable than it is, but that it should also not be disregarded as a pure paper tiger.

USAF Air University has a much more in depth analysis of the PLA, definitely worth a read of any of their papers.
One fun fact that I do know of is that PLAAF Airborne troops don't train PLFs. They just send new recruits up to the tower on day one and if they break their fucking ankles it's because they didn't try hard enough.
The PLAAF also doesn't have dedicated airbase security troops, which is going to be fun for them when they break through the first island chain and have to deal with SEALs/MARSOC/angry Okinawan grandmas coming to say hello

None of this is wrong except maybe "neer peer", but Russia was about as near as militaries get to peers with the US before they threw it all away.

>>64255899
This one really hinges on the definition of "contest". If that includes merely having a presence in all domains then I don't see a problem with it.

Realistically it would be "Death by tungsten rain". If nerve agent is being deployed on Chinese troops something seriously wrong (or based) has happened.

People here probably have already heard about China's recent and ongoing WW3 excercise "Stride-2014 Zhurihe" against a simulated US brigade, where all but one PLA brigades were defeated against a totally overpowered BLUFOR/OPFOR whose unlimited airpower and tactical nuclear strikes completely wiped the floor with the REDFOR units before they could even form up.
>A lot of big shrimps on Chinese forums are calling Stride 2014 Zhurihe the "Kobayashi Maru test", as OPFOR was operating under extremely favorable conditions through out, with complete air/EW superiority, unlimited air/arty/gunship strike on call 24/7, and NBC attacks enabled.

>It was also clear that each Unit attending Stride 2014 also learnt from the previous exercise, but OPFOR kept pulling more tricks out from their sleeves.

>Stride 2014 Zhurihe A (NJMR):
Ate a tactical nuke on motor pool losing 50% of support vehicles and assets as soon as exercise started, then forced to make a 300km assault on track whilst under repeated airstrikes, losing another 30% of forces enroute.

>Stride 2014 Zhurihe B (GZMR):
Learnt from A, split forces with half the force tranported on trains, OPFOR conducted NBC strikes again, and airstrikes on 10 min intervals.

>Stride 2014 Zhurihe C (JNMR):
Took a total of 6 (SIX!) NBC strikes in 24 hours, and non stop air strikes, reached assault staging area but was blanketed by OPFOR air/arty/gunship strikes for 30mins, followed by another NBC attack and then OPFOR amoured counter-attack.

>Stride 2014 Zhurihe D (SYMR):
Only win so far, and that was from a lucky successful attack on a forward CP by the brigade recon company which was "wiped out" in the process. Brigade suffered over 70% losses to its armoured and infantry battalions and then survived OPFOR NBC strikes and counter attacks to secure first win.
