Refineries and fuel/ammo depots are exploding nightly in Russia right now.
Maybe related to the flamingo and other new toys, SBU seems to have become quite active in sabotage ops too, two of the train attacks turned out to be saboteurs placing mines.

Nah, it's a carryover tradition from the first year or two. The Moskva sinking is probably the really big event that started it, but then it got reinforced by the shilling campaign in 2023 that seemed to have been Wagner, since the mutiny when bara TF2 fanart stopped getting spammed.

The final piece was the janny crackdown at the start of Kursk, which was kinda warranted in that particular case, but that was when things went from real-time feed to a couple funny webms a day. Repurposing shill threads has sorta just become the new way of keeping up with the news.
