Is being a manlet in the military really that big an issue? I'm 5'5 and want to join my nations infantry. I'm willing to carry the machine gun and joke about it but not have to prove I'm not a bitch constantly prison style.

Im 5’5 and they made me a saw gunner and then a 240 gunner and i loved it. just make sure to stay on top of lifting and cardio or youll have a tougher time. When i was in there were alot of short guys, some mexicans shorter than me.

Don't know which military, but being short is generally helpful in PT tests / smokings. These are generally body weight type exercises that make a small frame much easier to perform with. Downside is on the rucks, so depending on how prevalent that is it could well be an advantage.
