I think it's high time someone made an EW plane that's built for melee.
Like an Orien made with dense wingtips that would crush fibreglass or Al, titanium struts, ceramic leading edges with sharpened serrations to cut and saw through an enemy wing. Conceal the serrations by painting over them with sacrificial filler that absorbs impact energy by flaking off under impact, leaving a much more resilient cutting edge behind.
Make the wing flex enough to bend in the impact and bounce back to something still air-worthy, consider a compound bow as inspiration in designing the wing struts, with titanium and carbon fibre tuned so that it resists flight energies but flexes under kinetic impact. You can replace it on the ground afterward, it doesn't need to survive multiple impacts.
Maybe also make any one wing expendable with some heavy duty canards and elevators, a lifting body, stuff like that.
Use them as Q planes to bait out belligerent face-saving arseholes who'll clip their own wings and give you a great video of them doing.
