So ive seen multiple claims of Manpads shooting down glide bombs, and ive seen videos of them shooting down cruise missiles, but i cant find any video of that happening.
Does anyone have any?
On a side note why are soviet buildings so sturdy, when you see a video from gaza an entire building collapses after one bomb, meanwhile this one survives a 3000kgs bomb.

What blew up?

soviet and eastern block bombs had 3/4 of the explosives taken out and sold by corrupt officials, so even though the bombs look big, theyre actually small. israel gets billions of dollars from the us, so they dont need to salvage the explosives from their bombs to sell for petty cash

It's more a matter of targetting. Israeli PGMs punch into the basement and explode there, cracking foundations and collapsing load bearing walls. Here the bomb explodes some distance away from the building at ground level, so it's hit with less force and at a more favourable angle

A lot of middle eastern buildings are built from bricks or cinderblocks with a concrete panel on the exterior, most Soviet era buildings are built from rebar reinforced concrete.
When a bomb goes off inside a brick or cinderblock building it will knock it down like a house of cards.
>meanwhile this one survives a 3000kgs bomb
Yeah, but the bomb also fucking missed

Also a lot of the concrete used in the ME is trash, often made with marine sand.

Hotels and apartments with many internal walls would act as a layered defense against the blast.
Modern buildings with curtain walls and open-space structures would likely suffer greater damage.

Israelis are using PGMs and actually directly target load bearing walls. They're quite good at it, although I'm sure gazan building standards aren't exactly top shelf. HE is and always will be about getting a reasonable amount to the right spot, using p for plenty is pure cope unless you achieve that first goal

I have followed the war in Ukraine since the full scale invasion of 2022 every single day from both Ukrainian and Russian sources and I have not seen a single channel claiming anyone has shot down a glide bomb with MANPADS. I've seen a lot of stupid shit claimed but that one not even once. I'm just going to say that OP is lying unless if proven otherwise.

Part building to last, since scarcity meant you could never count of getting anything to swap to (everyone knew "post-scarcity future communism" was bullshit), part primitive construction techniques, particularly w/r/t panel housing which were super inconsistent - you could get ones that could probably withstand a direct tacnuke hit, and ones that folded the whole vertical strip of concrete after a drone hit.

Refinery smoking accidents are so constant they don't even deserve their own threads anymore. It's a shame, really. I wish anons more autistic than I kept up the score tally, though.

This.
While searches come up with mis-leading clickbait titles such as Forbes "A Ukrainian Mystery Weapon Is Shooting Down Russian Glide Bombs". When you actually read the articles, no where does it have claims Ukrainian forces a shooting down ruskii glide bombs. In short, there have never been any official Ukrainian claims.
